Mini Dental Implants are small diameter titanium implants that act like the root of a lost tooth and are FDA approved to help stabilize loose dentures or to support permanent crowns or bridges to replace missing teeth. The head of the implant is shaped like a ball, and the retaining fixture acts like a socket that contains a rubber O-ring. When used for retaining a denture, the O-rings placed in your denture snap securely onto the implant when the denture is seated which holds the denture firmly in place.
HOW ARE MINI DENTAL IMPLANTS PLACED?
Placement of the implants is accomplished quickly and easily in a process performed in the dentist’s office, with local anesthesia or a light sedation to help make you more comfortable. Using a precise, controlled, minimally invasive surgical technique, Mini Dental Implants are placed into the jawbone. The heads of the implants protrude slightly from the gum tissue and provide a strong, solid foundation for securing your dentures or crowns. Compared to larger size implants, minis are a minimally invasive surgery, no sutures nor the typical months of healing.
WHAT DO MINI DENTAL IMPLANTS COST?
Mini Dental Implants typically cost about half of what traditional implants cost. In addition to being more cost effective for the patient, mini implants require minimal to no recovery time, require much less surgery and have little to no discomfort following placement. Many insurance programs cover part of the cost of implant placement, and our office has financing options available if needed.
